Last week San Diego's Epic 16-2 volleyball team participated at the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships in Orlando, Florida. Playing in the "open" division, Epic 16-2 was primarily seeded 70th in a field of 71 talented teams. The competition was the best this 4 day tournament had seen in years, but the girls played their hearts out and ended up finishing 45th. Coach Steve Lamb couldn't have been more proud of his team and how the girls stepped up to beat many teams that were ranked higher than them. FLEXR founders Jim and Jeanne McFarland donated FLEXR bottles to each of the girls on the team in order to keep them hydrated in the humid playing conditions. Their daughter Jordan (#2 pictured in the middle of the bottom row) also plays defensive specialist for Epic 16-2, and hopes to continue her volleyball career throughout high school and into the collegiate level. Throughout this memorable experience, the girls loved using their FLEXR bottles and had a great time bonding as a team. They look forward to doing it all again next year!
